The side have won 4 of their last 5 home Qualifiers and Slovenia have to have earned some confidence from the big wins over Finland (3-0) and Northern Ireland (4-2). Slovenia had not only been unbeaten in 5 games before the 2-1 loss in Denmark, but they had won 4 Qualifiers in a row to move to the edge of booking a spot at Euro 2024. They just need to avoid defeat in this home game to do that, and there has to be a confidence in the Slovenia camp knowing that 10 of their 19 points earned in this Group have been earned at home. In something of a strange statistic, Slovenia have actually played in more World Cup Finals than European Championships (2-1), but have an opportunity to square that up at the end of Monday evening. A win would have been enough to progress, but a draw would not have changed the situation ahead of this last fixture as Slovenia look to return to a major international tournament for the first time since the 2010 World Cup. The defeat in Denmark on Friday means Slovenia still have work to do in their final Qualifier if they are going to earn a spot at Euro 2024.
